Prof. Matt Thorn - a cultural anthropologist who studies, teaches, and writes about comics and other forms of popular culture. He lives and works in Japan where he is an Associate Professor in the School of Cartoon and Comic Art at Kyoto Seika University.

Prof. Eugene Wang - Gardner Cowles Professor of History of Art and Architecture at Harvard University. A graduate of Fudan University, Shanghai, he received his doctorate in Chinese Art History from Harvard in 1997. He has been a J. Paul Getty, Guggenheim, and Ryskamp Research Fellow.

Dr. Byong Man Anh - President of Hankuk University, he is internationally recognized for his innovative approach to language instruction and research in area studies. A UF Distinguished Alumnus, he was a Fulbright Scholar here and went on to serve at Hankuk University developing the Department of Information and Communication and founding the Graduate School of Global Business.

Prof. Gayatri Spivak - Avalon Foundation Professor in the Humanities at Columbia University, is well known for her pioneering work in the field of postcolonialism. She helped define the field with her seminal essay "Can the Subaltern Speak?" and continues with translations of Jacques Derrida and Mahasweta Devi; her works interrogate the premises of Marxism, feminism, and deconstruction.

Romulus Whitaker - Founder and Director of the Madras Crocodile Bank and Centre for Herpetology, a well-known institute for breeding, research, and education related to endangered species, is a prolific author of 13 books and over 170 scientific papers, as well as producer of 13 documentary films. He is a consultant to the United Nations, World Wildlife Fund, and World Conservation Union.
