Introduction The International Conference on Ultra-Low Temperature Physics (ULT 2005) will be held in the New Physics Building on the University of Florida campus in Gainesville, Florida, USA from August 18-20, 2005. ULT 2005 is one of the satellite conferences following the International Low Temperature Conference (LT-24), held in Orlando, Florida from August 11-17, 2005. Experimental and theoretical aspects of ultra-low temperature physics -- including studies of quantum gases, fluids and solids, exotic states of highly correlated electronic systems, quantum critical phenomena, nuclear magnetism, quantum transport and astrophysical problems -- will be the main theme of the ULT 2005 conference. Gainesville is a two-hour drive from Orlando. The scientific program will begin on Thursday, August 18 at 9 a.m. and will end at 3:30 p.m. on August 20. The program will consist of invited presentations (30 minutes each, including questions and answers) that will introduce principal themes and current emerging topics. These presentations will be complemented with contributed papers (20 minutes each) selected from submitted abstracts. We encourage participation of junior scientists and senior graduate students. |
